ASUU: Atiku pleads with union to suspend strike

Former Vice President, VP, Atiku Abubakar has appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to suspend its strike action.  Speaking during his 70th birthday celebration in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, Atiku said,

 “My call to ASUU is for the sake of the education of our children. The decision to shelve the strike will be in their favour.

19 persons crushed to death in ghastly motor accidents along Enugu-Abakaliki Expressway

 19 people were killed on Wednesday on Enugu-Abakaliki Expressway in multiple accidents involving commercial vehicles. The accidents occurred almost concurrently along the major highway on Ezilo axis of Ishielu council area and 135 Ezzamgbo in Ohaukwu council area. Some drivers also died.

2 year old boy burnt to death in Abakaliki

A 2 year-old boy and property worth millions of naira was burnt to nothing at Ekuluobia Street Kpiripiri in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi capital. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the fire which started at about 9:50 a.m. on Thursday destroyed 15 rooms.
Items destroyed by the inferno included refrigerators, mattresses, sofa, electronics, documents, among others.

US Election: President Buhari denies donating $500m to Hillary Clinton’s campaign

                                 
The President Buhari led administration has debunked rumour making round on media for days now, that he sponsored the US elections,  A video circulated online by a US group known as the American Black Group for Democracy, last week, had accused Buhari of donating $500m to Clinton’s campaign organisation.
